Twitter is reportedly testing a News Tab that makes it easier for users to browse news headlines.
Read all about it
The trial tab sits above the navigation bar in the Twitter app, and features a stream of headlines from Twitter-approved publishers.
It's intended to help users keep across breaking news more rapidly, and appears to function like a souped-up version of the recently discontinued Discover tab.
Breaking news
Twitter is facing increased pressure from Facebook when it comes to live-events and breaking news, in addition to stalling new user growth.
While the News Tab is only available to select users in Japan, if it proves a hit expect to see more headlines being made (and retweeted) further afield.
