A new survey reveals that Twitter has dethroned Facebook to become US teenagers' preferred social network for online shopping.
Teen dream
The biannual report from Statista shows that 26 per cent of teens rate Twitter as their favourite social network.
This is followed by Facebook and Instagram, which both ranked at 23 per cent.
Following from a distance comes Tumblr (4 per cent) and Google+ (3 per cent).
Rise and fall
Instagram is nipping at the heels of its bigger siblings. Over the past six months Facebook's popularity with teens dropped 10 per cent, while Twitter slipped 4 per cent.
Over the same period Instagram increased its appeal by 6 per cent.
Facebook's image problem
The findings come after Facebook recently changed its policy to allow teens to publicly post on the network.
Will it be enough to lure back the lucrative, and sometimes fickle, teen market?
