The social video stoush between Instagram video and Vine heated up again this week with Vine releasing its biggest ever update.
Return fire
Ever since Instagram launched its video service two weeks ago, Vine has taken a battering. In the 24 hours after Instagram video launched links to Vine videos dropped by 40 per cent.
Now Vine's fighting back with an update that include a redesigned camera, new genre categories for videos and increased privacy controls.
Social snaps
But it's the social updates that will potentially have the most chance luring users back. The 'Revining' feature allows users to repost existing Vine videos, while there are now 15 channels where users can post relevant videos for increased exposure.
Finally, Vine has also launched an “On the Rise” category, which lets users view videos and users who are trending on Vine.
Whether it will be enough to slow the march of Instagram video remains to be scene, but it's unlikely this is last shot fired in the social video tug-of-war.
