Martech Mashup: Dropbox and Apple team up

Here’s a small but nifty update for cloud-using Apple fans. Dropbox and Apple for announced deep new integration features.

At the recent WWDC, Dropbox announced a collaboration with Apple for the launch of iOS 11.

The soon-to-be-released Files app will give iPhone and iPad users the ability to move and manage Dropbox files more easily in iOS 11.

Files will let you do a bunch of helpful things, including the ability to browse, open, edit, rename, upload, and download Dropbox files with your mobile device.

Smart type

But wait, there’s more. Dropbox is baked deep into Apple's upcoming operating system.

Files will let you access Dropbox files from third-party apps, the same way you can with files stored on your device. You’ll also be able to use Dropbox features for teams including commenting and collaboration abilities.

The new features will roll out when iOS launches later this year.
