Love ‘em or loathe ‘em, emojis aren’t going away anytime soon.
In fact, Facebook just rolled out global support for six new universal emojis.
And if you’re not up to speed on your smiley and frowny faces, a new service called Emojini is here to help.
Face the music
The aptly named Emojini works by analysing your images and selecting the most appropriate emoji.
Simply upload whichever image you’re thinking of posting, and Emojini will use some very clever scanning tech to pick the best of 500 emojis in its repertoire.
Mix and match
The company behind the magic, Curalate, says it road-tested Emojini on close to 2 million images to hone its emoji-magic before release. The results are surprisingly good. For example, a picture of a landscape brings up the mountain emoji.
With emojis now pretty much standard across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, helping you pick the most appropriate one might save marketers some precious time – while potentially boosting engagement.
And smiley faces.
