Facebook has just released its Q4 earnings report, revealing a huge jump in the number of mobile-only users.
Mobile money
Facebook says that half if its 1.39 billion users accessed the social network exclusively from a mobile device. That's an increase of 26% year-on-year.
Looked at another way, almost 40% of Facebook users never access the platform from desktop.
On the grow
Overall, Facebook's monthly active users clocked in at 1.19 billion, a 13% increase year-on-year.
The figures are even more startling when considering they don't include usage stats for Facebook mobile properties Instagram and WhatsApp.
In 2014 Facebook amped up its suite of apps, including Messenger, Rooms, and the less successful Slingshot.
Money machine
All those mobile users are proving very lucrative for Facebook's bottom line.
In the past quarter Facebook's mobile ad revenue doubled to US$2 billion, its highest level yet.
Expect more records to tumble as Facebook's mobile tentacles extend in 2015.
