Twitter hasn't had an ideal start to 2014, with its share price under-performing, user growth stagnant and Instagram closing the gap.
But Twitter is nothing if not innovative and has responded with a slew of new features to entice users back into the Twitterverse.
Photo fun
While Twitter was a little slow to the photo game, it's now making up for lost time, recently announcing two snap-happy updates.
Now users can tag up to 10 users in photos, while still having 140 characters left to tweet.
However we feel the more interesting update comes in the form of photo collages, which sees users able to add up to four photos to tweets.
Pinned tweets
Twitter also announced that high profile users, such as celebrities and politicians, now have the ability to 'pin' their tweets.
This works much the same way Promoted Tweets do by appearing at the top of their profiles – except it's free.
Game changer?
Will collages encourage Tweeters to post and tag more pictures? Will Pinned Tweets prompt high profile users to tweet more often?
