Whitney Houston’s death hit the twitterverse a good 20 minutes before news sources, and echoed throughout the week.

Magda Szubanksi joined twitter and came out in support of gay marriage on Valentine’s day. @MagdaSzubanski now has over 10,000 followers.

There’s plenty of buzz about iPad 3. Outrage and welcomes for asylum seekers, and a whole lot of people looking for new flights after Air Australia ditched them, with 'passengers' 'stranded' and 'airline' all trending today.

#Auspol remains a strong trender.

Social media channels Pinterest and Instagram are also on tweeters' minds.
