ONEmobile, Australia’s newest telecommunications company, has launched an Android app it claims is a world-first in the market.
The new app is aimed at making it easier for ONEmobile customers and non-customers using pre-paid phones to monitor and top-up their accounts.
Making pre-paid easier
ONEmobile’s app allows its customers to recharge, change plan details and check their balance. Non-customers can use the app to purchase a ONEmobile plan, and the company will mail out a SIM card to activate new accounts.
The app can also be used to gift credit to ONEmobile friends.
Keeping the core demographic topped up
Currently, pre-paid customers must either top up their account online or purchase a recharge voucher from a retailer.
ONEmobile's app is designed to ensure its key demographic of 18 – 25 year olds can easily top up credit at any time. The app will also be used to communicate ONEmobile promotions and deals.
The free app is downloadable from the Android Market.
