Adobe has announced new predictive functions for Adobe Social that may take the guesswork, some might say the magic, out of successful social media posts.
Predicting the Facebook future
According to Tech Crunch, Adobe Social will use historical data, both aggregate and client-specific, to predict the amount of Likes, comments and shares a Facebook post will receive.
Aside from foreseeing the future, Adobe Social will also suggest keywords, content and scheduling times to give Facebook posts the best chance of engagement.
Baking it in
Adobe Social's predictions will be baked into Adobe's publishing tools so users can, for example, open a widget that will predict the popularity of a post.
Users can also customise the feature and add their own metrics.
Data raking
While there are other products that suggest content for social platforms, Adobe Analytics' vice presiden Bill Ingram says Adobe's access to user data is what sets Adobe Social apart.
Does this mean the era of individuality in Facebook posts is over? Or if enough brands use Adobe Social will all updates begin to look the same? It may be a quandary that not even Adobe Social can predict.
We'll have to wait until mid-year to find out, when Adobe Social is slated for release. Social networks beyond Facebook will be added throughout 2013.
