Amazon Virtually Unstoppable

A recent job posting at Amazon has sent virtual ripples through online communities, as the retail juggernaut enters a new medium.

It would seem Amazon is putting together a sleek team composed of engineers, scientists, creatives, and product managers, all in the name of building “Amazon’s VR shopping experience.

Amazon’s headhunters are specifically looking for someone with a keen understanding of VR’s flexibility across multiple industries, not the least of which is entertainment.

Staying home to explore a virtual shopping experience is about to get a whole lot more immersive.

The writing is on the wall – and now it’s interactive

Not long ago Amazon unveiled Flow, which enabled perspective shoppers to photograph items and search for them online.

Amazon followed up Flow with Amazon Product Preview, where items could be visualised by consumer’s in their homes.

With the success of Amazon’s multiple studios, and the addition of VR, it would seem we have a new medium, supplanting and surpassing the fad of 3D. VR may be our new medium.
