Continuing its love affair with (or desire to dominate) live video streaming, Facebook has brought Live Video Map to desktop.
Desk jockeys
The map can be accessed on the Apps list via the Facebook side bar, and lets you view live video streams from around the globe.
Blue dots denote live videos. The bigger the dot, the more viewers the video is attracting. You can zoom in to view the stream.
There's also a side bar showing a variety of live videos in progress.
Live in the moment
The move comes as Facebook looks to substantially up its live video muscle, and muscle out existing players such as Periscope and Meerkat.
While the live video map is pretty basic at the moment (and not available on mobile), expect further advances in this area quicker than you can set up a Meerkat stream.
