Google Apps for Business has officially been rebranded with the slightly different name, Google Apps for Work.
Work it
Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt announced the change in a blog post.
“Work today is very different from 10 years ago. Cloud computing, once a new idea, is abundantly available, and collaboration is possible across offices, cities, countries and continents.
“Ideas can go from prototype to development to launch in a matter of days,” Schmidt explained.
Same same but different
Google revealed that 200,000 users now access Google Apps for Business, from single person startups to multi-nationals.
The name change is intended to reflect this diverse user group.
And pretty much that's it. All the apps including Google Apps, Maps, Search, Chrome, Android and Cloud Platform are still available. Which is probably a relief to many of these users.
