Instagram beefs up Stories

Instagram has added a few new features to its Snapchat-inspired Stories.

Upskilled

In a nod to sharing, you can now include Mentions of other users in your Stories

To add a mention, you type @ followed by the relevant username. Your friend's username will then appear underlined in the story. Users tapping the Mention will be taken to their profile.

And if you feature in a Mention, you'll receive a notification in Direct. 

Boomering

The second update sees Boomerang, Instagram's looping video feature, come to Stories.

Boomerang can now be recorded using the Stories camera, and shared directly.

Finally, you can also dig deeper in Stories via the "See More" link that appears at the bottom of certain Stories.
