It's the holy grail of many a marketer: an all-in-one analytics package for Instagram.
Yet the promise of metric nirvana might be closer than we think; if you believe everything you read on the internet.
Measure this
According to a report on Later.com, Instagram is on the verge of releasing in-app analytics, which it's calling Insights.
Later.com shared screen shots of Insights, which will initially be available for business profiles.
In addition to Insights, business profiles also get a Contact button, linkable Location Tag, and a category for their profile.
Data driven
Insights will give users access to juicy data like user demographics, which will be broken down by gender, age, and location.
The feature will also provide insights into your post reach, website clicks, and follower activity. Pretty much a paired-down version of Facebook's robust analytics suite.
As Instagram ramps up its ad offerings, the need for analytics to justify all that cash will become more pressing. Expect to see Insights (or a similar version) roll out in the not-too-distant future.
