LinkedIn is bringing smart messaging to its interface, enabling users to contact existing connections to bolster new job opportunities.
Communication with connections, key to new push
Employers and potential employees will be able to generate conversations instantaneously from anywhere on the LinkedIn platform.
According to the popular networking service, 50% of users find employment through a mutual connection.
Suggestions via Company and Jobs pages are intended to help facilitate meaningful dialogues relevant to the hiring process.
Prepared responses help quicken the conversation
Quick-answer buttons such as “Thanks” and “I’ll get back to you” will appear at the bottom of the messaging interface. The goal is to keep communication succinct and efficient when time is valuable.
LinkedIn’s approach to messaging comes after criticism following their acquisition by Microsoft.
In a bid to remain relevant, business-minded instant messaging is the company’s first step to exploring new ways to strengthen real-time networking.
