It's been another busy week at Twitter, as the micro-blogging platform continues to tweak its offering for users and brands. Here's a recap of the top tweaks to Twitter this week.
Tweaking profiles
Twitter has made it easier to update user profiles. Previously, users had to access the account settings tab before updating.
Now tweeters can update their blurbs and header images from the profile page, leaving more time to tweet. Twitter released this video about the new process to commemorate the occasion.
Longer lists
Twitter lists are a great way of organising people you are following and gain insights into what these groups are discussing. For example, Twitter lists lets you segment the chatter of family and friends from your clients via curated streams.
The only problem was that until now Twitter lists were capped at 20 users from 500 accounts. Now those numbers have blown out to 1000 users per list from up to 5000 accounts.
This update reflects the growing need to curate content as Twitter's user base gets increasingly bigger and noisier.
Going up the charts
Twitter ended the week with an update to Twitter Music. Twitter launched its music service in April, which recommends music to users based on who they are following. Now Twitter has added a charts feature which makes it easier to discover new music in categories like 'emerging' and 'popular' as well as by genre.
The update only applies to Twitter's web dashboard for now, with the roll out expected to arrive shortly on Twitter's mobile apps.
