Back in July Twitter released promoted stickers to all users.
Now the platform has extended the feature to brands, starting off with Pepsi.
Pepsi challenge
Twitter announced the news in a blog post.
"Starting today, brands can create and promote custom stickers for anyone on Twitter to use.
"A brand’s stickers will be featured in the #Stickers library and offer a form of creative expression that makes a person’s photos more fun and engaging."
Stick around
Twitter says brands can create either four or eight stickers, which users can add to their photos.
The stickers act as visual hashtags, so photos with a promoted sticker will be discoverable to anyone who taps on the post.
Drink it up
Pepsi is the first brand to feature promoted stickers. Which is somewhat ironic considering Coke was the first brand to use Twitter's branded emojis last year.
The move is somewhat similar to Snapchat On Demand geofilters, which have been a hit with brands (and recently launched in Australia).
