Facebook now has 1b Daily Users

One year ago Facebook launched On This Day, the feature that took users down memory lane in an attempt to pause and reflect. And hopefully boost Facebook's engagement stats.

So we thought it fitting to take this anniversary to have a look at Facebook on this day.

Facebook now has 1 billion daily users, and close to 1.6 billion global users.

Of this massive pool, 155 million have signed up to receive On This Day notifications.

Friends

The average Facebook user now has 250 friends, and the platform remains most popular in Canada.

The average user spends 20 minutes every day Facebooking.

Kid friendly

While newer contenders such as Snapchat and Tumblr are undoubtedly popular with teens and young adults, Facebook is no slouch when it comes to the kids.

91% of US users aged 15 – 34 years are on Facebook.

Video

Video is set to get even bigger on Facebook this year.

The platform recently tweaked its settings so 360 videos play more smoothly, while Facebook's Oculus Rift Virtual Reality headset goes on sale mid-year.
