Facebook and IBM are joining forces and giving marketers new ways to integrate campaigns between the platforms.
BFF's
IBM announced the deal in a press release.
"Starting today, IBM’s marketing cloud clients can now utilize Facebook’s powerful ad capabilities such as Custom Audiences, along with IBM’s deep analytics and design features, to create meaningful experiences for their customers across applications, devices and time, IBM explained.
Piecing it together
Now users will be able to purchase Facebook ads with increased metrics powered by both Facebook and IBM’s Marketing Cloud.
Additional data includes information around location, previous purchase history and even the weather.
New beginnings
IBM used the example of a retailer identifying Facebook users interested in long-distance running, then delivering targeted ads based on the athletic brands they prefer, and their location.
Importantly, marketers will be able to replicate successful Facebook campaigns on other platforms.
