You might have had a good holiday season, but chances are it wasn't as good (or at least as profitable) as eBay's, which has just released its Q4 earnings for the past year.
Ebay's net revenue for the full year came to US$17.92 billion.
Cashed up
In the final quarter of 2014 eBay racked up US$4.9 billion in revenue, and a profit of US$936 million.
The boost was largely due to increases in e-commerce, which increased by 21% of the period.
Mobile money
As expected, mobile sales continued to fill eBay's coffers.
Mobile payment volume increased by 58% in the fourth quarter to US$45.6 for the entire year, representing 20% of eBay's total volume.
Mobile commerce volume grew a massive 30% for the quarter, making for a tidy US$27.9 billion for the entire year.
Globally, cross-border trading rose by 20%.
It's too early to tell whether a bottle of McDonald's secret Big Mac sauce for sale on eBay for US$17,000 will boost the platform's bottom line this quarter.
