Video looping platform Vine has released an update that allows users to track how viral their videos are.
Spread the love
The new feature, called Loop Count, works by updating every time a users' video is played anywhere online, even via embedded posts. The feature operates much the same way YouTube's “Views” metric does.
However Loop Count only tracks hits on videos uploaded after April 3 2014. All earlier videos will include a “+” sign next to them, implying missing data.
Count down
While it's arguable that existing Vine metrics such as re-vines and Likes give a more accurate snapshot into a video's performance, the update might lure brands looking to invest in producing Vine videos.
As a sweetener the app also updated its mobile offering, so Vine videos now occupy the entire screen, while users can receive notifications when their Vines reach certain view and Like milestones.
