SMK’s app of the week: iDoneThis

There are plenty of to-do apps out there, so how do you choose the right one?

We recently heard good things about team-building and motivational service iDoneThis, and decided to give it a spin.

I do, therefore I am

iDoneThis is a website and iPhone app that tracks progress by asking a simple question every night: “What'd you get done today?”

Your response is then stored on the app's calendar, which marks all your completed and upcoming tasks.

Looking back

While it doesn't sound like much of a point of difference, we found that seeing your completed tasks added a sense of accomplishment, rather than just seeing another endless to-do list.

Group think

We also like the way iDoneThis accommodates multiple users, so groups can sign up together and receive daily updates showing the tasks each team member has completed.

Each group member can also leave feedback on others' accomplishments.

We think this feature would appeal to businesses involved in short term tasks and potentially cut the need for time-consuming meetings. While the app's shared timeline of a project's accomplishments makes reporting easier.
