Analytics

SND also comes with analytics that help identify popular content to media organisations and give journalists real time feedback into what stories are working.

This comes in the form of a daily Social News Report, similar to a ratings report.

Risk Minimisation

Recently the Associated Press Twitter account was hacked and in the resulting confusion the Dow Jones Industrial Average (not to mention AP stock) tumbled. Other recent social media crises from Qantas and Coles show how damaging a hack or tweet can be.

Shepherd says SND can significantly reduce the risks of hacking by having robust passwords and controlling access.

Social Management

While SND is designed for media organisations, the model shows that large organisations increasingly need systems in place to manage multiple social media accounts so they can see what’s working, report back to staff and minimise risk.
