Instagram is testing a new feature enabling users to discretely remove creepy followers.
Living life out loud!
If you’re one of the millions of people out there that enjoy sharing your personal journey with the world via photo, video, and emoji, you can now also quietly boot undesirables.
The feature is being tested on Android and allows for the manual removal of selected followers from the user’s contact list without notifying the dumped party.
Before now, there were only three options: perma-blocking, blocking and unblocking (known as “soft-blocking”), or setting your account to private. All of which were considered drastic.
Getting blocked out loud!
The feature is currently in beta testing with select users, which means an elite few have already begun quietly dropping dead weight with followers unaware.
Essentially, it’s “unfriending” for Instagram. Makes sense. To check if you have access, look for an icon with three vertical dots to the far right of a user’s name in your follower list.
Do you have the feature? Are there a few undesirables you’d like to gently cut from the herd? Give us your thoughts in the comment section below.
