Google has added another incentive for joining Google+ by announcing YouTube accounts can be linked to Google+ pages.
Integration
Google is currently testing the new feature in beta, and claims that linking accounts will lead to increased video sharing and live broadcasts via Hangouts.
Users can also choose a new name for their channel and page, as well as adding multiple managers for their YouTube channel.
Google's balancing act
Google has been pumping resources into Google+ since its launch almost two years ago. While features such as Hangouts have be adopted by some high profile users the platform has struggled to attract large userbase, at least compared to rivals Facebook and Twitter.
YouTube, on the other hand, goes from strength to strength – recently clocking up 1 billon monthly users. Google will be hoping some of YouTube's stardust rubs off on its struggling stable mate.
Get started
To try out the new feature, users must select “Connect with a Google+ page (beta)” from their YouTube account settings. From here users can link to a new or existing Google+ page and profile.
