Just over a year since Hire by Google launched, they’ve now unveiled new functionality to faster find the right candidates.
Naturalising recruitment recall
Hire by Google’s candidate discovery functionality lets recruiters trawl records they already have on file to quickly ID anyone who matches their current criteria.
It is, at its core, a contextually-refined application of Google’s famous ‘intuitive search’ capability.
Candid candidate discovery
For each newly created vacancy, candidate discovery facilitates the generation of a prioritised list of previous candidates who might suit.
It also better understands natural language, relevant jargon and industry acronyms, as well as boosted abilities to extrapolate actual job requirements, based on typically short position titles and single-line descriptions.
So what?
Google’s own testing has found that the new functionality allows recruiters to fill vacancies quicker, by instantly unearthing qualified individuals and ruling out inept ones.
That said, one could be justified in asking whether the new functionality is really a significant extension on what Hire by Google already offered to recruiters.
In fact, the Candidate Discovery label seems to just be a promotional brand pasted onto a press release announcing a couple of minor new capabilities.
Now it’s in open beta, any Hire by Google customer can try it out for themselves.
Has Hire by Google come far enough to get you to give it a try?
