Lorna Jane brings social media in store

Activewear giant Lorna Jane has installed a high-tech mirror called SociaEyes in its Chermside Park store in Brisbane. The touch screen device allows customers to ask their friends advice on clothing via Facebook.

Mirror Mirror on the Facebook wall…

SocialEyes works by taking a picture of the customer that is then sent to Lorna Jane’s Facebook page, where customers can receive feedback from the online community about their outfit options.

Once the photo is posted customers are given an in-store reward and go into the draw to win a $250 Lorna Jane wardrobe. The image can also be tagged and enabled on other social media sites.

Bringing social media to bricks and mortar

Lorna Jane is testing SocialEyes are a way to lure customers away from online shopping and back into back into stores. By tapping into the company’s 230,000 Facebook fans it hopes to bridge the gap between online and and in store shopping by offering an interactive experience and rewards.

SocialEyes will launch at Lorna Jane stores in Sydney and Melbourne in time for the Christmas rush.
