Australia is being used as a test bed for Messenger's newest toy: Photo Magic.
The feature scans your photos using face recognition making sharing more streamlined.
Say cheese
Photo Magic scans your recent photos, looking to match faces to your Messenger friends. Once a match is made you have the option of sending the pic to your featured friends.
Last month over 9.5 billion photos were shared on Messenger.
The three most common type of photos sent on the app are Selfies, Friends, and What's Up (where users take a photo of what's happening at the moment).
Camera-shy users can opt out by turning off tag suggestions under privacy settings.
Framing the story
The update potentially gives Messenger a leg-up over arch rival Snapchat, which recently revealed its daily video views have tripled to 6 billion.
At the moment Photo Magic is available to Australian users on Android, with an iOS version launching shortly. If it takes off, Facebook says a wider roll out will follow.
