Thanks to the latest integration of G Suite with Dropbox last March, Google has a new add-on to make Gmail attachment management easier than ever.
Sweet sweet GSuite
Ever since the initial launch, Google has been quiet on the next big step – and the new Dropbox/Gmail sync is just step one in the Google Cloud master plan.
According to Ketan Nayak, product manager at Dropbox, a meticulous plan is about to unfold and with more than 50% of users engaging both platforms.
Users will need not busy themselves with the usual copy/paste fandango, but can now access Dropbox without leaving Gmail.
How it works
Attachments will be displayed in a new side panel when penning an email in Gmail, which allows for items to be saved directly to Dropbox instead.
Nayak continued to say, “Users can share and generate links to Dropbox content while composing an email” which only further strengthens the flexibility of the new additions.
Depending on the success of Google and Dropbox foray into partnered integration, we could se even more comprehensive innovation pop up down the road. In the meantime, keep an eye on that inbox.
