Twitter gives marketers more metrics to monetise

Twitter has just launched Audience Insights, a new tool giving marketers greater metrics into targeting campaigns.

Twitter announced the news in a blog post

"With audience insights, you can easily discover valuable insights about your followers and the people who have engaged with your organic Tweets."

Understanding is key

Audience Insights is presented as a dashboard, and lets marketers access all kinds of juicy data including relevant audiences for upcoming campaigns, and user demographics around interests and purchase behaviour.

You can even find out what TV shows users prefer, and breakdowns of their mobile usage.

Twitter says Audience Insights also provides guidance into which type of creative will resonate most with your targeted audience: for example an image or video clip.

Game changer

The move helps Twitter make up ground on campaign targeting, something Facebook has long been adept at.
