Uber’s had a busy year. In-between fighting lawsuits and expanding into e-commerce deliveries, the ride-sharing business has just launched its own magazine.
Uber chic
Uber’s glossy magazine, called Arriving Now, has been launched in conjunction with New York Fashion Week.
The custom publication includes expert tips about local hotspots and exclusive details about upcoming promotions.
Publishing powerhouse?
At the moment the magazine is only available in Uber cabs operating in New York City, and are aimed at attendees for fashion week.
Arriving Now doesn’t have a digital supplement, but Uber says customers can take the magazine with them.
Digital driver
While Arriving Now is a test case, it isn't too hard to imagine it being rolled out to a wider market covering events including food and film festivals.
Aside from helping passengers pass the time, custom publishing could give Uber another way to monetise, and offer marketers access to its well-heeled clients.
