In what is fast becoming a weekly tit-for-tat, Vine has announced a new range of updates that do everything Instagram video doesn't – if you listen to the press release.
Android adds it up
The latest instalment in the social video wars sees Vine upping the performance of its Android app to mirror Vine's iOS counterpart. This means Android users now have access to the iOS update Vine released last week including an improved camera, channels and social sharing options.
However the Android app comes with something extra, a capture widget. This means when users open Vine they are automatically directed to the recording screen so they don't miss a second of the action.
Inch by inch
The widget is a small upgrade, but might make the difference for some users, when weighed against Instagram's multi-button journey to record.
As Vine and Instagram video tussle for the social video space, every inch and second counts.
The Vine for Android update is now available at the Google Play store.
