Snapchat’s constant roll-out of new features continues, with the latest tranche including a smart multi-Snap recording capability.
Why multi-Snap
Snapchat users wanting to capture an important moment previously had to repeatedly tap and hold in the hopes of catching the event in just the right time window.
Multi-Snap takes that uncertainty away, instead allowing Snapchatters to simply press and hold to keep recording, to deal with the results later.
Shoot, cut, post
With multi-Snap recording, users can press and hold the record button to capture a constant stream of video for up to a minute, or until they take their finger off. The result will still be sliced into a series of 10 second Snaps.
All clips in the sequence can be reviewed and selective deletion is possible. Ones that are approved and saved to Story appear in the same order they were shot.
Rumour is the captured clips can be filtered/decorated all at once or individually.
Android last
Multi-Snap recording was launched at the same time as a new editing tool, the tint brush. While the tint brush launched on iOS and Android simultaneously, Multi-Snap was an iOS exclusive at first. It is said to be coming to Android soon.
Will multi-Snap recording’s potential for longer serial posts disturb the fleeting and fanciful feel that has propelled Snapchat thus far?
