Facebook is improving the vetting process for members looking to join Facebook Groups, through the launch of admin tools allowing up to three questions for prospective members.
Screening gets streamlined
The old process of getting to know a hopeful member was largely relegated to a timely process of friending and messaging, where communication could easily be lost in the fold.
Thanks to the new “Ask Pending Members Question” feature, Group admins will be able tailor their recruitment process accordingly.
Prospective members looking to join will be able to answer each question in up to 250 characters, with only moderators and admins privy to those responses.
New tools remove the guess work
The main goal of the questionnaire option is to engage and facilitate members who could become active leaders within the online community.
Allowing leaders to hone in on important information via specific questions will bring more relevance to the recruitment process.
Facebook will be hosting their first annual Communities Summit for Group admins some time next month in Chicago. Analytics, Sub-Groups, and special permissions are just some of the potential announcements Mark Zuckerberg could reveal.
