Facebook's latest update expands the ways users can live stream on the social network.
Namely, you can now go live from the desktop.
Desk jockeys
Until now, mobile was the only path to live streaming. Now all you need is a desktop or laptop with a camera to begin your stream.
Just click the "Live Video" link at the top of the News Feed or Timeline, add a description, and choose your audience to start streaming.
Bonus for brands
The update gives more freedom for brands around live streams. For example, tutorials, Q&As, and video logs could achieve a slicker, more professional look.
First launched in August 2015 for celebrities and influencers, Facebook has since expanded its live streaming features for all users.
On average Live streams are watched 3x longer than pre-recorded video, and attract 10x as many comments.
