Facebook is testing that long awaited tool of expression: the Dislike Button.
Thumbs down
Facebook is trialling a 'thumbs down' icon in Messenger, that can be activated during chats.
During a conversation, simply tap the emoji button and an inverted yellow thumb can be employed to display your disdain.

At the moment the feature is in beta with a small amount of users, but if it takes off expect a wider roll out.
The trial may signal a softening in Facebook's resolve to keep the conversation civil. A Dislike Button is the most requested feature on Facebook, one the platform has continually avoided implementing.
Facebook rolled out Reactions last year to broaden the range of emotions users can convey, however nothing quite says dislike like a downturned thumb.
It might also boost engagement levels, even if the tone is slightly less polite.
