A new report from Nielsen shows that while free-to-air TV and radio are still the most popular media outlets, smartphones are knocking heavily at the door.
Step it up
The study reveals that in Q1 of 2016, over 191 million US adults used their smartphone on a daily basis, up from 176 million in Q3 2015.
Conversely, traditional TV attracted 287 million viewers in the first quarter of the year, a slight rise of 285 million in Q3 2015.
Video games
Nielsen found that 151 million US adults watched video on a smartphone monthly, a rise of 18 million over two quarters.
Interestingly, the number of people using a multimedia device skyrocketed from 14 million to 80 million over the same period.
While the amount of people using DVD and Blu-Ray players shrank.
