Facebook brings easy translation tools to all

In a bid to make it easier to reach more of Facebook's 1.28 billion users, the social network now lets you translate posts into different languages.

Chatterbox

Now when you compose a post, Facebook automatically scans it and offers to translate into another language.

If you translate your post from English to Italian, only users with their default language set to Italian will see your translated post.

This means your English-speaking friends and followers won't be inundated with posts in another language.

Tongue tied

The feature has been available on Pages for some time, but is now available for all users.

Posts can be tweaked before posting, and even targeted to certain user groups.

With around 50% of Facebook users speaking a language other than English, the tool could help brands reach far wider audiences.

Especially with landmark events such as the 2016 Summer Olympics coming up in Rio.
