The fight for internet safety will last for as long as people are online, and some areas remain more precarious than others.
One of those is Twitter.
The unsocial network
The company continues to challenge large numbers of trolls and abusers head-on with an update to its block tool.
While a popular option for victims of abuse, there have always been flaws in the block system.
The most notable has been that the blocker and the blocked could still see each other's tweets through retweets and the relatively new quote tweet.
Block party
Twitter has now extended the block to remove the possibility that the parties involved could see an unwanted tweet anywhere.
No notifications, no tweets in any stream on Twitter.com, apps or otherwise. And hopefully, greater enjoyment out of the social network.
Twitter's next move in the cyber-bullying space is expected to be faster and more accurate reporting features.
