Google Posts – a new type of social network?

Google has just launched an experimental new service called Posts, a social network that lets you post through search results.

Search and be social

Posts is currently in beta and being trialled in real time during the US Presidential Election.

This means candidates can send content such as images, video, and text straight to Google, where they’ll appear above search results.

Users can then share these Posts directly on their social networks.

Talk it up

Bernie Sanders was the first to jump on board, posting back in December. Who knows how long until Kanye and Kim jump on board?

Posts is potentially significant as it appears Google is looking at other social media platforms options, and winds down support for Google+.

While Posts is currently in beta, early adopters can sign up for a waiting list when Google extends invitations later this year.
