Group descriptions, security against members continuously rejoining after leaving, and a “catch up feature” are all among the latest improvements for WhatsApp.
You seem familiar
Admins can now send group-wide messages to make announcements, making it easier to keep a large base informed.
WhatsApp’s latest announcement leans heavily into the suggestion of parent-teacher relations, community centres, and other non-profits being able to take advantage of the new settings.
All together now
To use the shiny new settings, simply open Group Info and tap Group Settings. Click on Send Message, select Only Admins, and you’re done.
The update is available globally to all Android and iOS users, so everyone can get organising without any pesky piecemeal device specific rollouts.
What are your thoughts on the new admin settings? What potential do you see in a mass messaging feature? Let us know in our comments.
