Scheduling prerecorded videos has been available to YouTubers for years – now they have a platform to build anticipation for upcoming content.
Prerecord to victory
Dubbed 'Premieres', the new public landing page is meant to keep a sort of go-to for upcoming content which will provide an in-home alternative to using Instagram and Twitter to foster a bit of buzz.
Premieres creators can use features like a countdown or Super Chat to interact with audiences and build momentum in real time.
Dollars for dem vids
Users will be able to monetise video content thanks to $4.99 Channel Memberships, but even so, ‘Premieres’ will only be available to users at 100,000 subscribers, as part of the YouTube Partner Program.
YouTube culture is evolving into more personalised yet marketable channels, so long as content can be sponsored by an audience. As always, the people will vote with their wallets.
What are your thoughts on landing pages? Would Premieres help tease your content? Let us know in the comments.
