The Facebook Fundraisers features is about to get more support for nonprofit groups.
Grow and divide
Brands and celebrities will now be able to fundraise through their own Page for nonprofits and users can invite friends to manage fundraisers, as apart of the new Fundraisers features.
Campaigns have seen success like Tegan and Sara, who recently launched a Page fundraiser to send 100 kids to an LBGTQ summer camp through the Tegan and Sara Foundation LGBTQ Camp Scholarship.
Users can add up to three friends to be co-organisers of their cause, aid in managing events, and help rally support through their own existing networks.
The Push
All of these shiny new features are meant to give nonprofits a leg-up in raising support and funds from supporters both local and abroad.
Facebook is leaning heavily into the nonprofit sector as it continues to weather the PR storm of yester quarter. But if the tools give grassroots organisations an edge, then why not?
