Facebook wants to help in a crisis

Facebook is taking steps to make coordination easier for businesses and organisations to provide aid during desperate times.

Helping through efficiency

The titular social media network has added new capabilities within their Crisis response section by allowing organisers and businesses to provide critical info by posting in Community Help.

The new rollout will be coming to Pages from organisations like Chase, The California Department of Forestry and Fire, Direct Relief, Feeding America, Lyft, International Media Corps, and Save the Children.

A new way to reach communities fast and effectively is always in high demand and the new feature is intended to make free transportation, supplies, and volunteer recruitment as seamless as possible.

Help at an exponential level

Community Help has seen more than 750,000 posts, messages, and comments to create volunteer opportunities, generate shelters, and collect food and clothing donations.

The ready-built tools are keeping people safe while providing essential means to get help in the midst of catastrophe, especially when mobile communication is lacking or out of service.

Have you used Community Help as an organisation? What has your experience been with the feature? Let us know in the comments.
