Without much fanfare, Google has released the beta version of Files Go, an app designed to free your phone from clutter.
Go Further?
Files Go is really more of an organiser than a fully-fledged management app.
It does everything you’d expect from an organiser: sorting through your back catalogue, and freeing up space by deleting apps you no longer use, including duplicated photos, and dormant large files.
So why use it? Files Go has an ace up its sleeve: the ability to send files to other Android devices without needing a wifi or mobile network.
Cloud talk
While Files Go is pretty bare bones, it may get more bells and whistles once it emerges from beta.
It could be attractive for heavy Android users looking to speed up their phones, while saving their data on other devices or the cloud.
And the app itself is a featherweight, taking up only 6MB of space.
