Facebook Benchmark Report Q2

Online Circle has just launched the latest version of our ongoing Facebook Benchmarks Reports. The Second Quarter 2015 edition is now live.

This time we analysed over 6000 Australian Facebook brand pages, and presented the 500 most successful pages over 27 categories using data gathered from March to June.

Which brands performed best?

According to our report, Australia.com had the highest number of fans overall, followed by Bananas in Pyjamas and The Veronicas.

‘Tourism’ is the biggest vertical, followed by ‘TV Shows’ and ‘News and Magazines’. With millions of fans, Australia.com, Sydney.com and Visit Queensland are the big drivers of the ‘Tourism’ category.

The category of ‘News and Magazines’ grew the largest number of fans for the second quarter of 2015.

Which audiences were most engaged?

‘Newspapers and Magazines’ take the prize for high levels of audience engagement, followed closely by ‘TV Shows’.

With the recent news that Facebook is driving more traffic to publishers than Google, publishers have been keen to generate more engagement with their audiences on Facebook.

The data from the last quarter shows that they are succeeding.

What's next?

We previously wrote an article for SMK about the Australian launch of Facebook Partner Categories.

Our upcoming report on the Third Quarter of 2015 will be the first time we analyse the impact of this innovation.
