Facebook has passed another marketing milestone: 5 million advertisers are now parting with their cash on the platform.
There are now 65 million businesses with a Facebook Page, and 8 million with profiles on Instagram.
This milestone marks huge growth for Facebook, which reported 3 million advertisers in September 2016, and 2 million in February 2015.
These businesses helped Facebook net US$26.9 billion in advertising revenue last year.
The majority of these advertisers are small to medium businesses, while three-quarters of them reside outside the US. Virtually all of them market on the move.
Facebook has steadily increased the tools for brands to market on mobile, such as the Adverts Manager app, while gives the ability compare multiple ads and change up targeting.
There's also mobile studio, a creative hub based around mobile advertising on Facebook.
