Honda responds to tweets with Vine videos

Honda is launching an ambitiuous new campaign that sees the car manufacturer respond to customer tweets with Vine videos.

The campaign is based around the hashtag #wantnewcar and is promoting Honda's summer clearance sale in the US.

From Monday this week Honda has been responding to customer tweets with videos that are filmed and posted on the same day. Each video is tailored to the individual tweet, with a fair dose of humour thrown in.

Susie Rossick from Honda explains. “If a user mentions needing a new car to pick up a pizza, that Vine video response may feature a Honda dealer offering a great deal … with a mouth full of pepperoni.”

While brands including Marc Jacobs and Nissan are already using Vine for marketing purposes, creating bespoke videos for tweets appears to be a first.
