Manage Google business listings via Search

A simplified Google business listing dashboard is now accessible to admins directly through the ubiquitous Google Search interface.

Logged and locked

Google business listing administrators can now edit and update their business listings directly from Google Search.

If they search for their own business name, the admin will see the search results, but at the top of the list is a business listing management panel.

Of course, for the management panel to appear, users must be logged into Google with the same account that they use to manage their business listing.

Functionality

The new business listing panel in Search gives admins four single-click capabilities:

·         Edit info

·         Create post

·         Add photo

·         Reviews

Also, if Google has any lingering questions about the business, it might pose them to you here.

Simple searcher

These days, Google says, 80% of people search the web to find local information. So, ensuring the business plays nicely with Google is important. Big business may have whole departments dedicated to such things, but smaller and boutique operations will appreciate any simplification they can get.

So, making the business dashboard immediately accessible via the ubiquitous Google Search interface is a step in the right direction.

Is your Google business listing important? Is it just a small component of more general SEO, or is there something more to it?
